The new season begins in a few weeks, with all of Europe’s top clubs set to return to action in the Champions League next week, when the two European clubs who have qualified for the competition will meet in the last 16.
With the league already set to have its most expensive ticket in history, it is expected that the two clubs will likely face off in the first leg of the tie.
It is not known if this will be the start of a run of fixtures which would see the top two teams going head-to-head at Wembley in December.
The tie is expected to be the most expensive in the history of the competition, as both sides have already spent over €60m on players, including Neymar and Cristiano Ronaldo, in the course of their campaigns.
