By James Veysey-Smith Liverpool FC celebrates the 100th anniversary of the birth of Sir Alex Ferguson at Anfield with a special event at Anfield.
Ferguson’s first-team squad were on display for the first time at Anfield as they unveiled a special commemorative shirt.
The red and white kit features a silhouette of Ferguson’s iconic No 10 shirt, complete with the number 10 number of his Manchester United jersey.
A special edition of the shirt was also made available to all Liverpool FC supporters, with a number of details including the No 10 of the Liverpool FC shirt also featuring on the back of the sleeve.
It is the first kit to feature a number 10, which was worn by Ferguson during the 1960s, and it is expected to be used in future fixtures.
The Reds are joined by Liverpool FC legend John Barnes on the shirt, with former captain Steve Gerrard also making an appearance on the shirts.
The shirt is currently being manufactured at the stadium, with production beginning later this month.
